How many times have there been stories like this now?
From Daily Wire:
A Texas steakhouse server who claimed that a customer left him with a racially-motivated hate note on a receipt made up the entire incident, according to restaurant management.
Saltgrass Steak House server Khalil Cavil posted a photo of a receipt to his Facebook account that stated: “We don’t tip terrorist.” The post quickly went viral,
Cavil claimed that the receipt, which showed that the customer gave no tip on a bill totaling $108.73, was proof that “this racism, and this hatred still exists,” USA Today reported.
The restaurant then banned the customer from returning. But then when they looked into the situation more, they discovered that the server did it, the customer didn’t.
“After further investigation, we have learned that our employee fabricated the entire story,” Terry Turney, COO of Saltgrass told USA TODAY. “The customer has been contacted and invited back to our restaurant to dine on us. Racism of any form is intolerable, and we will always act swiftly should it occur in any of our establishments. Falsely accusing someone of racism is equally disturbing.”
From Odessa American:
Cavil had said he hoped the post would spur conversation “about this hatred that is still going on, that is still here and prevalent. I just wanted people to understand that.”
It did. Many on Facebook were offering money to Cavil who said he was working to attend college in Dallas this fall. Cavil said donations totaled about $1,000.
Cavil later confessed to the Odessa American in an interview, saying he was sorry. “I deeply made a huge, big mistake. And I’m in the process of getting the help that I need.”
And the restaurant fired him, according to the Odessa American.
Pretty sad that someone goes to this length to push this kind of lie and foment division. And had this not been found out, the customer would have been tarred with this lie.
