BREAKING: Melania Puts Her Heart Out There, Defies Critics with Surprise Visit to Kids at Border Center

First lady Melania Trump has made it very clear since she entered the White House that her priority was going to be children. She’s visited hospitals, schools and group homes for kids trying to bring cheer to kids. She’s also started ‘Be Best’ a program to encourage kids to be the best they can possibly be.

On Thursday, she showed that deep caring nature again, making a surprise visit to a child detention center in McAllen, Texas after a lot of controversy over the border separation policy and after her husband signed an executive order ending separation of families who enter illegally.

From Fox News:

Mrs. Trump visited the Upbring New Hope Children’s Center, after she was reported to have been a force in getting the president to act in the wake of a days-long controversy surrounding the effects of the Department of Justice’s “zero tolerance” policy.

The first lady said earlier through her spokeswoman that she “hates” to see families separated at the border.

The First Lady reportedly influenced Trump to act on the executive order to keep families together.

And she made it clear that she wanted to thank the people who have been doing a lot for kids but who have come under attack from false reporting. “We all know they are here without their families and I want to thank you for your hard work compassion and kindness you are giving them in these difficult times,” said Mrs. Trump to the center workers.

Kids are generally kept at the centers on average of about 42-45 days before they are reunited with family members or guardians.

The particular center she visited only has about 55 children, between the ages of 12-17.

Her office said in a statement Thursday: “Her goals are to thank law enforcement and social services providers for their hard work, lend support and hear more on how the administration can build upon the already existing efforts to reunite children with their families.”

Even after Trump signed the executive order which is what they claimed they wanted, Democrats were still not happy. Some now argued that Trump’s executive order to hold families together was now violating the very law that they claimed didn’t exist just the day before, the one that forced Trump to have to separate families. Now they’re claiming that this could lead to indefinite detentions of the families together and that families should not be detained at all. He can’t win with them.

But Melania isn’t letting them stop her from showing her concern not only for the kids, but for the workers and law enforcement who have been much maligned by those on the left and the media.
